RP Rules

Threads

  • Each thread your character starts with full chakra, items, and health (unless you've suffered permanent damage in a previous thread)

  • The player who starts a thread can declare a set of rules in their first post. All those who join the thread are required to abide by these rules. So if you want a friendly spar without any killing, make sure one of your thread rules is "No Kill". Alterntively these can be listed in the thread title in brackets (example: Naruto vs Sasuke [No Kill] [No maiming] [No attacking during dramatic speeches]). The only exception is when a thread is intervened on, in which case all rules declared in that thread are null and anything goes. If a thread is labeled as [Closed], then NO ONE can join the given thread (unless specifically invited by the thread owner) without intervening. If a thread is not labeled [Closed], then anyone with a valid IC reason for being there may join.

  • To intervene on a thread, you must already be in the area that the thread takes place and have a VALID reason for why/how your character is intervening. You must then roll a die (medium chance) to see if you can intervene on the thread. Each player has only ONE chance to intervene. Kage can intervene on a thread that takes place within their respective village without a die roll.

  • All threads go in chronological order. If you would like to make a thread that takes place before your most recent one, it must be labeled as [FLASHBACK]

  • If you are entering a thread with items on your "Not Equipped Unless Specified" list (found in your Ninja Info Card), you MUST mention these items in your FIRST post in the thread

  • Anything that refers to a number of posts (such as the duration or cooldown of jutsu) is referring to a number of rounds of posting. This means that a jutsu with a duration of 1 post will last from when the user activates it until their next post (so every thread participant has posted exactly once.

Combat

  • Each in-combat post is on average about 5 seconds long.

  • When using an active ability (an ability that uses chakra, such as a jutsu, an item's effect, kekkei genkai, etc), please put it in a spoiler at the end of your post (along with your current chakra). Please also include a spoiler at the bottom of your post of all relevant passive abilities you have currently in effect (abilities that don't use chakra, such as items or kekkei genkai).

  • NO AUTO-HITTING. You cannot say "Naruto punches Sakura in da face". You can say "Naruto throws his fist at Sakura's face, attempting to punch dat". The only exception is when a player has been inactive in the thread for over 72 hours without notice, which is when all attacks in the previous post will automatically hit and the user can attempt another (which is when the 72 hour clock will start again)

  • NO META GAMING. This means that you cannot have your character use knowledge that YOU know if THEY are unaware of it. An example of this is if you know an enemy ninja is sneaking nearby. If your character is unable to detect the ninja, you cannot blindly cast a fireball in the exact direction of the sneaking shinobi. Your character has no knowledge of it, and therefore cannot act on any such knowledge.

  • Shinobi Evolution recognizes the laws of physics. Anything in your post that violates them will be subject to review by staff. Details of jutsu/physical traits (such as speed) are given numeric values for a reason, please learn math.

  • Any action that doesn't make logical sense in a given situation will be considered never to have happened. Example: If your opponent declared in a previous post that it is night time, and you try using a jutsu that can only be used during the day, then your opponent can respond as if that jutsu was never activated (including any consequences)

  • If a dramatic change of events occurs due to a ruling (even if the ruling is based on the rules listed here or elsewhere), it is entirely possible that a thread could be "reset" to a previous, unaltered state.
